Nadine Coyle says she's envious of Cheryl Cole's proximity to X Factor impresario Simon Cowell.

Nadine is currently in America, hard at work on her debut solo album which launches next year.

"I think anyone would be envious that Cheryl has Simon Cowell's backing," she told Closer magazine.

Nadine said she's happy for her bandmate and that she phoned Cheryl after her performance on the X Factor to compliment her.

"We're not at war," she said.

Nadine Coyle has rubbished rumours of a rift with Cheryl Cole – and revealed she was devastated to miss her debut X Factor performance.

The Irish Girls Aloud star, who lives in LA, said she loved Cheryl’s new song and dismissed reports she had not bothered to see her when she was in the States recording her album, 3 Words.

Nadine said: “There were all these crazy reports saying I had snubbed her – but we met up and had a great laugh.”

She added: “It isn’t like I go out of the way not to be at anything the girls are doing.

“If I was still in London I’d be out with them far more often. When we are touring we spend every second together and go out lots, so we make the most of it when we can.”

And the Derry-born singer said she was gutted to have missed Cheryl’s X Factor performance.

She said: “I was really upset to have missed it but as soon as she had finished the performance I watched it on the internet and called her up to congratulate her. I really love Fight For This Love – it’s really catchy.”

Cori Rist, a Big Apple blonde outed as one of Tiger Woods' many mistresses, insisted Monday she is no hooker.

Rist admitted she romped with Woods but said he never paid for the pleasure.

OneRepublic's lead singer Ryan Tedder has worked with an impressive catalogue of stars including Beyonce and Leona Lewis and now he's turned his attentions to Adele.

The songwriter and producer, who penned Beyonce's hit Halo and Leona's recent single Happy, says he's been trying to get together with Adele since before the Grammys and describes her as "one of his favourite artists in the world".

The pair have been working on a follow-up to her debut 19 and Ryan says it's important to him that Adele still retains her own sound.

He told Newsbeat: "I'm letting Adele be Adele.

"19, that album was so absolutely mind-blowing to me, so simple and beautiful that I don't want myself as a fan to interfere with her sound.

Karen Elson Fell in the Orchestra Pit at the British Fashion Awards



Elson, 30, the flame-haired “discovery” from Oldham, Manchester, who has become a global fashion star, arrived on the stage at the Royal Courts of Justice to present the Fashion Creator award – and seconds later disappeared.

She walked straight into an ill-concealed “orchestra pit” and promptly disappeared from sight.

All the audience of fashion luminaries, including Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham, saw was a flash of Elson’s red velvet, Alexander McQueen fishtail gown, as she tumbled four feet downwards into the darkness.

Elson, who is the wife of The White Stripes frontman, Jack White, with whom she has a daughter and son, made a miraculous recovery.

She appeared, back on stage, within minutes, declaring:”I am the clumsiest person on this earth. I cannot believe I just did that.

"That is the worst fall I have ever had. I might have broken a rib, but I’m fine.”

Elson, a former winner of the British Model of the Year fashion “oscar”, went on to present The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator to the creative director of American Vogue, the British-born Grace Coddington, who emerged as the “star” of the recent ‘frockumentary, “The September Issue".

The incident revived memories of Naomi Campbell's wipeout during Vivienne Westwood's 1993 Anglomania show after attempting to walk in 10 inch heels.

One onlooker said: "It was a spectacular fall from grace but she handled it well."

Other award winners at the industry "Oscars" included Christopher Bailey, who was named ‘Designer of the Year’ for turning heritage brand, Burberry, into a global luxury label, and Georgia May Jagger, the 17-year-old daughter of the Rolling Stone Sir Mick Jagger, who was named ‘Model of the Year’, following her international success as the “face” of Hudson Jeans and the Versace spring/summer 2010 campaign.
